Senator Robert YundtPersonal Profile

Robert Yundt

District N, Republican

A life-long Wasilla resident, Rob is a true Alaskan. While a family man first and foremost, Rob is also an avid outdoorsman and entrepreneur. He has grown and developed two prominent real estate businesses that continue to foster growth in the local economy. Rob wants to concentrate on keeping families together in Alaska by bolstering the economy and keeping our great state accessible at all stages of life.

Rob-Yundt.jpgRobert Yundt II is a life-long Alaskan serving State Senate District N. Since being elected to the Mat-Su Borough Assembly, here are a few of his accomplishments. Under his watch, the MSB has paid off over $80 million in debt, increased the Borough’s credit score, producing the lowest property tax rates in 35 years.

Rob increased the senior and disabled veteran property tax exemption from $218K to $270K, tying it to inflation for future adjustments. The MSB has funded over $100 million in capital projects with no new debt. Rob negotiated the debt-free construction of the new Mat-Su Central Public Correspondence School, saving millions in wasted rent, increased career and technical education (CTE) classes by 217% for students. In Juneau Rob will prioritize defending parental rights. Protecting women’s sports, bathrooms and safe spaces from men are top priorities for Rob.

Rob firmly believes State spending needs to be reduced so we can pay a statutory PFD. Additionally, we can increase the PFD by growing our economy. Prior to Bill Clinton shutting down the Alaskan Timber industry in 1999, this industry once created over 4,000 jobs annually. It now creates less than 100. Fortunately, we have more timber on State land alone that the other West Coast states combined.

Proper game and fish management also needs addressed. Residents need prioritizing over non-residents immediately or our children will not have the same amazing outdoor opportunities as our generation had.
